History

1978 Hans-Gunnar Andersson founded the company, specialized in overland transports to south Europe.

1983 New branch opened in Stockholm.

1986 New branch opened in Gothenburg, new traffic to Great Britain launched.

1986 Subsidiary founded in Milan, Italy.

1988 Subsidiary founded in Antwerp, Belgium.

1989 TransFargo launches the own developed IT-system, TRISS, for the freight forwarding in the new AS-400 environment.

1990 New terminal- and logistics centres opened in Malmö, Gothenburg, Stockholm and Milan.

1991 New services launched to Germany. TransFargo acquires the trucking company Eurotrans with sites in Malmö and Gent.

1992 Implementation of the own developed WMS (Warehouse Management System), LORDS.

1993 TransFargo is the co-founder of Nordic Chain, the first alliance between independent freight forwarders in the Nordic Region, together with Nörgaard Spedition A/S, Copenhagen, Nortrail A/S, Oslo and Combitrans Oy, Helsinki.

1994 The subsidiary in Italy and Belgium are sold as well as the trucking company as a result of a new strategy based upon focus in the Nordic Region after entering into the European Union.

1995 The entire company is certified according to the ISO 9002 standard.

1998 The entire company is certified according to the ISO 14001 standard.

2001 New service launched, air and sea.

2002 TransFargo enters into the Pan European express network SystemPlus.

2004 TransFargo launch the new web-based Warehouse Management System TRUST (TransFargo Utility System). New services are introduced to Eastern Europe .

2004 TransFargo gets the quality assurance from the Customs Office according "Servicetrappa" (trappa=stairs), step 4, the ultimate degree.

2005 TransFargo is the co-founder of Nordic Service Provider AB. The company offers technical- and logistics service to IT and electronic business within the Nordic Region.

2006 TransFargo becomes member in the Pan European groupage network, System Alliance Europe, May the 1st.

2008. Nordic Chain is converted into AB, a limited company. TransFargo is one of four shareholders together with Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard A/S, Denmark, Norsk Trailer Express, Nortrail A/S, Norway and Varova Oy, Finland. The company sells its shares in Nordic Service Provider AB.

In December TransFargo moves into the new logistics centre Sunnanå, strategically located along the outer ring highway in Malmö.

2009 TransFargo join the European groupage network Cargo Line in January the 1st as a service provider for Sweden.

TransFargo is AEO-certified in March.

2010 In April the AEO certificate is upgraded to level AEOF.

2011 TransFargo introduce new services within the land based transports:

- Premium Heavy – for express goods with higher density.
- Premium services for time definite shipments; Date (Delivery a specific date), Date 8, 10 and 12 (Delivery a specific date latest 8, 10 or 12 am) and Window (Delivery a specific date within a window).

2012 Håkan Siwersson succeeds Hans-Gunnar Andersson as CEO of TransFargo. Hans-Gunnar Andersson enters as chairman of the company.

The Logistics Building in Malmö achieve Green Building diploma for enhanced energy efficiency in buildings.

2013 TransFargo develop its services portfolio with parcel distribution in the Nordics and the Baltic States. The services comprise B2B as well as B2C distribution including return handling and customs clearance services.

2014 Recertification of the entire company according to SS-EN ISO 9001:2008 och SS-EN ISO 14001:2004.

The logistic site in Malmö is enlarged with an additional warehouse for storage of dangerous goods.

2015 The logistic site in Malmö is certified for storage and transports of packed foodstuff.
